Electrodes and Interfaces
Our research focuses on advancing neural interfaces based on polyimide and silicone rubber in translational research. Thereby we are pursuing three approaches:
1. Improving the reliability and long-term stability of the interfaces with in vitro and in vivo testing methods, followed by in depth analysis using different approaches like FIB-SEM cross sectional imaging.
2. Implementing novel techniques to enhance assembly technologies.
3. Consideration of normative and regulatory aspects.
- FIB-SEM-analysis
- Longevity tests using electrical stimulation, periodical mechanical deformation and (accelerated) aging
- MEMS fabrication
- Laser fabrication
- Fabrication of long-term applicable polyimide based thin-film shaft electrodes (FlexBRM)
- Moore4Medical
- InoPro (interface section)
- Preparation of material-tissue interfaces for further investigations
