Florian Neff studied Microsystems Engineering at the NTB Interstate University of Applied Sciences of Technology in Buchs, Switzerland. After his graduation with a Bachelor of Science in 2016, he gained industry experience as a material engineer at the thin film analytics laboratory of Oerlikon Balzers in Liechtenstein. He started his Master's studies in Microsystem Engineering at IMTEK in autumn 2020, where since May 2021 he is a student research assistant, working on µLED Array based neural probes for optogenetic applications. The current focus lies on the design of PCB boards for the electrical activation and testing of the neural probes, as well as the assembly of the µLEDs on the polyimide based probes in the clean room and further packaging thereof at the Microsystem Materials Laboratory (MML).
