Welcome to the website for the course Biofunctional Materials for Medical Microsystems and Healthcare 11LE50S-5323. If you want to atttend this course WS20/21 this is important information for you:
- In the winter term 2020/2021 the course will be given as an online lecture/seminar course over zoom.
- A first introductory seminar for the course will be given Wednesday 4th of November 13.00-15.00 over zoom.

IMPORTANT: To attend the seminar you will also need a password. The password will sent out to all students registered in HiSinOne.
However, in case you are not yet registered in HiSinOne and still want to attend the seminar on Wednesday 4th of November, email the responsible for the course maria.asplund@imtek.uni-freiburg.de (further contact info below).
Starting from the 11th of November we will have weekly lectures/seminars, all Wednesdays 13:00 - 15:00.
About the course
The learning goals of the course are that
- Participants will gain deeper insight into the fundamental biofunctionalization techniques used for medical implants at present as well as insight into where the research frontier stands within a range of application fields.
- Participants will be able to examine the potential of new technologies in this field and critically discuss which challenges that have to be met before technologies are transferred from basic research into clinical application.
The course will be given in English language.
