After receiving the university-entrance diploma, Ingo Breunig did an apprenticeship as car mechanic and worked in a garage for one more year. He studied physics at the university of Rostock and recieved the diploma in 2004. For his PhD studies, he moved to the Heinrich Hertz endowed chair of Deutsche Telekom AG at the University of Bonn. Here, he recieved the degree Dr. rer. nat. for his thesis on continuous-wave optical parametric oscillators. After that he was a Postdoc at the same chair for two more years. Since 2011, Ingo Breunig leads the research group Nonlinear Optics in the laboratory for Optical Systems at the University of Freiburg. 2016 he was appointed a Guest Associate Professor (Global) at the Graduate School of Science and Technology of the Keio University in Japan. 2018 he received the habilitation in Microsystems Engineering at the Technical Faculty of the University of Freiburg. |
