Projects
Multi-modal endoscopic imaging

Project description
The optical micro-bench, developed in the past several years in the Micro-optics Laboratory, is a very flexible, highly-functional optical platform which allows realization of a wide variety of imaging modalities in an ultra-miniaturized measurement head suitable for endoscopic applications. In this project, we are expanding its capabilities to allow different imaging modalities in a single, compact measurement head combined with new techniques for implementing two-dimensional beam scanning.
The new generation of endoscopic optical micro-benches will combine white light microscopy with optical coherence tomography (OCT) and also integrate, in different configurations, confocal microscopy, Raman spectroscopy and fluorescence microscopy. Novel fiber scanners integrated into the platform will permit 2D beam deflection and thus a highly-compact, completely integrated endoscopic system.
