Projects
Biomagnetic cellseparation based on the “Lab-On-Disk” technology for “Point-of-care” diagnostics – BioCellLab
Project description
Goal of the project is the automatic separation and purification of defined target cells from whole-blood on the “LabDisk” platform. Binding the small numbered target cells to magnetic particles allows separating them from other cells and elution in smaller volumes leads to concentration. Combination of biomagnetic cell separation and centrifugal microfluidics provides a new methodology especially for the point-of-care diagnostics. The automation of all process steps and direct detection on one device allow a timesaving detection of target cells with less manual effort and contamination risks.
