Projects
LIM-MOBIL - Development of safe and long-lived Lithium metal based batteries for electromobility
Project description
Rechargeable Lithium Metal Batteries (LMBs) have a high potential to increase the driving range of fully electrical cars. Unfortunately, the use of LMBs is limited due to safety concerns and short cycle life of the Lithium metal anode. These drawbacks should be overcome in LIM-MOBIL by a combination of an efficient protection of the Lithium metal anode and the use of a gel forming electrolyte. This will result in leak proof, inflammable and long-lived LMBs with high energy densities.
