Projects
DEKADE
Project description
Project outline (en): In the project DEKADE novel catalyst systems, electrodes and membranes are developed for automotive fuel cell applications. In addition, a model of the membrane-electrode-assembly (MEA) will be developed. The target are MEAs that are cheaper and easier in fabrication, which are fully competitive in performance and durability with the state-of-the-art MEAs. The project is unique cooperation of several partners in Freiburg: Fraunhofer ISE, the chemistry department of the University of Freiburg and the institute for microsystems engineering (IMTEK). The project particularly profits from the novel Freiburg center for sustainability of the university of Freiburg and the 5 Fraunhofer Institutes in Freiburg. The experienced industry partner ‘Greenerity’ will contribute to the project with material synthesis, as well as electrochemical fuel cell characterization
