Projects
Optical microsystems for ultra-compact hyperspectral sensors

Project description
We are developing new designs for tunable hyperchromatic micro-optics and implementing these using advanced micro-optical device and fabrication concepts. In these hyperspectral sensors, refractive and diffractive optical elements are combined to maximize the chromatic aberration. The imaging system will be tunable with respect to spectrally analyzed information, where tunability is based on integrated pneumatics. The aim of the project is to realize compact two-dimensional arrays allowing two- or three-dimensional hyperspectral imaging. Applications include monitoring of food quality and medical imaging.
