Dr. Tolgay Ungan

Curriculum Vitae
Tolgay Ungan was born in 1979 in Schwäbisch Hall.
He studied Electrical Engineering and philosophy at the University of Hannover and at the TU Berlin. Following this, he received a scholarship from the DFG PhD-School "Micro Energy Harvesting" at the Department of Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK), University of Freiburg.
In 2011 he finished his PhD at the Laboratory for Electrical Instrumentation on "Wireless power transmission for autonomous microsystems".
Since 2011, he is building up a research group in Energy Harvesting and RF-Systems at the Laboratory for Electrical Instrumentation.
Since March 2012, he is being founder and CEO of SmartExergy GmbH ( www.smartexergy.com ), a spin-off from the Department of Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK) at the University of Freiburg. SmartExergy GmbH develops and distributes wireless sensor systems for monitoring big photovoltaic plants.
