Projects
Endoscopic tomography of intracorporeal cellular micro-structures

Project description
This project concerns the development of MEMS-based endoscopic micro-probes for the diagnosis of submucosal tissue in body channels. 1D or 2D scan optics make linear, azimuthal, and combined cylindrical scanning possible. In addition, tunable micro-lenses for focus adjustment are integrated onto the optofluidic silicon micro-bench. The technology, which is almost exclusively based on silicon micro-machining, and the modularity of the system demonstrate the power of the optical micro-bench. The micro-probes are compatible with various optical imaging methods, of which optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a primary focus.
