Vita
Dr. Konstantinos Mitsakakis is a Physicist with an MSc on Nanoscience & Nanotechnology. He acquired his doctoral degree from the Department of Materials Science & Technology , University of Crete, Greece, while working in Biosensors Technology Lab at the Institute of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology , Foundation for Research & Technology Hellas (IMBB-FORTH), Greece. His PhD topic was the development of a multi-analyte acoustic biosensor platform for cardiac marker detection.
Dr. Mitsakakis has a track record in the acquisition and management of national Fellowships and EU research projects. In 2011 he joined IMTEK with an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation fellowship . He then coordinated the FP7-ICT project “DiscoGnosis ” and the H2020 project “DIAGORAS ” while he has been partner in the H2020 projects “DMC-MALVEC ” and “SuperPests”. He is currently partner in the Eurostars project "Respiotic", and the BMBF projects “SEPTICISION” and “COVIRES”. He is the initiator of the activities for diagnostics for developing countries at Hahn-Schickard and is in contact with several organisations for the translation of the research outcomes from laboratory to clinics/end-users.
He is author of >35 publications with several contributions in international conferences. His research interests are in the field of micro/nanotechnology for life sciences, biosensor technologies, microfluidics, lab-on-a-chip and microanalytical systems, as well as point-of-care diagnostics. Since 2016 he is heading the International Business Development Group of Hahn-Schickard.
