M. Sc. Joachim Hoppe

Curriculum Vitae

Joachim Hoppe was born in 1987 in Freiburg, Germany. He finished school in 2006 and immediately started his studies in Microsystems Engineering at the University of Freiburg. In 2009 he graduated with a B. Sc. in Microsystems Engineering. In his bachelor thesis he developed a prototype system used for En-face Optical Coherence Tomography measurements at the Laboratory for Microoptics.

He then started his M. Sc. in 2009 in the same subject. Between 2010 and 2011 he spent two semesters at the Technical University of Denmark, near Copenhagen. There he took courses of the masters program "Engineering Acoustics".

After returning to Freiburg, he continued his master studies at IMTEK. In 2012 he graduated with a M. Sc. in Microsystems Engineering. In his master thesis he worked on an indoor localization system using sound waves emitted by smartphones.

From 2012 to 2015 he was working as a research scientist and development engineer. Since 2016 he is developing electronics for indoor localization in cooperation with the startup Telocate GmbH.
